In the 1841 census, the age of persons over 15 was supposed to be rounded down to the nearest multiple of 5 years. In general,
the age of a person under 15 is probably accurate to within a year or two. Where this is my only source for the age of the person, I have therefore added 2 years to the age given in this census when the age is over 14.
Where a person's birth date is unknown, I have estimated the year on the following basis in order:
1 The birth year of the spouse.
2 Twenty six years before the year of the eldest Child's birth (marriage being estimated at age twenty five).
3 One year after the year of the parent's marriage with two years between children.
